The small and serene city Pondicherry is situated on the Coromandel Coast, established by the French. Pondicherry includes three different cities of three different states, namely Karaikal (Tamil Nadu), Mahe (Kerala), and Yanam (Andhra Pradesh). One of the largest institutions of India-Sri Aurobindo Ashram was founded by Sri Aurobindo. It provides charity to the people. The School for Perfect Eyesight claims to develop and refurbish vision without the use of glasses.
Aurobindo Ashram is involved into teaching of yoga. The Ashram has its own printing press and cottage industry where exquisite hand made papers and pottery are made.

The Botanical Garden in Pondicherry opened in 1826 that lies at the far western end of the old Tamil Town. It was designed in the formal French style. Almost 1500 exotic varieties of trees, flower beds, gravel walks and fountains makes this beautiful garden.

Auroville is called �the City of Dawn located in northwest of Pondicherry. It is a unique township in the shape of an urn founded on Feb 28, 1968 which is a representation of international understanding. The buildings reflect a combination of modern western and traditional Indian architecture amidst the greenery.

The South Boulevard has sacred Heart Church in brown and white and nearby peaceful, extensive Botanical Gardens was opened in 1740. The stained glass panels there depict incidents from the life of Jesus Christ. The cemetery along the southern boulevard has tombs with ornate marble decoration.

The 1.5 kilometers long beach is a beautiful site to gaze at. The pleasant breeze from the Bay of Bengal makes it suitable for relaxation, swimming and sun-bath. The beach has witnessed the bloodiest battles between the French and the British.

Also called Plage Paradiso beach and is located at Chunnambar. It is a perfect place for leisurely holiday and beach sport.

This beach is good place to witness dusk. The slowly flowing Arasalar River meets the sea. The beach helds boating club on the beautiful backwaters.

The beautiful Mahe beach is a beach resort which is 22 kilometers south of Kannur bordered by lush palm trees. There are numerous fishing settlements. The beauty of the beach is enhanced by the spectacular Goringa Godavari River strolling through rich mangrove forests.

Manakkula Vinayagar Temple is a globe shaped temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh constructed nearly five centuries back. The wall of the temple has 44 different poses of Vinayaka.

The Government Square consists of Raj Niwas, formerly 18th century Palais du Gouverneur, and houses the Legislative Assembly, beautiful well organised garden, monolithic pillars and a white square pavilion in the centre.
